A successful fringe meeting in Brighton 1995 lead to an inaugural AGM in June1996. The next Blackpool Conference saw the placing forward of a resolution, exposing the inadequacies of the Disability Discrimination Act which was adopted by 22 constituencies. At the Blackpool Conference 1998 a member, using "point of order, made the conference, and the party, aware of the lack of format for those members who were blind. Equipment to produce Braille versions of party documents soon followed, along with the service to members of party publications in Braille. LPDMG has been involved with the continued progression of access issues, which allows for full inclusion of those with a disability at Conference.
